Parcel weight calculator
Compare the weight on the scale with the space inside your box.
The calculation
Volume becomes dimensional weight through the divisor. The higher weight governs this estimate.
Volume = length × width × height Dimensional weight = volume ÷ divisor Governing weight = max(actual, dimensional) Optional: round upward to chosen weight increment Total = rounded weight × identical parcel count
Calculation walkthrough
A 40 × 30 × 20 cm box has a volume of 24,000 cm³. With divisor 5000, dimensional weight is 4.8 kg. If the scale reads 3 kg, dimensional weight governs. A 1 kg rounding increment raises the estimate to 5 kg per box. Three identical boxes total 15 kg under those assumptions.
Verify the inputs with your supplier before placing an order.

How dimensional weight changes a parcel estimate
Actual mass and occupied space measure different things.

Parcel weight questions
Will this match the final carrier bill?
Not necessarily. Carrier dimension rounding, minimum billable weights, service exceptions and additional charges can change the bill. Obtain a current quote.
Can I combine boxes of different sizes?
The quantity field assumes identical dimensions and actual weight. Run separate estimates for different boxes. A carrier may assess pieces individually.
Can I use the same divisor with inches and centimeters?
No. A divisor has implied volume and weight units. Match cm inputs to a cm³/kg divisor, or inch inputs to an in³/lb divisor, according to your service terms.
